Construction and projects.
Position
Partner and head of construction and projects. Construction and engineering projects (both disputes and contract drafting projects) – involved in litigation, arbitration, adjudication and mediation; advising on procurement issues, building contracts and professional appointments. Disputes – advised local authorities on multi-million pound leisure centre disputes, a major contractor on a waste water treatment plant, specialist contractor on a dispute over Edinburgh schools PFI. Currently advising developer on multi-million pound building defects claim and various contractors and sub-contractors on delay and disruption disputes. Acted for both referring and responding parties in adjudications, as well as acting as an adjudicator. Non-contentious – acted on a number of developments for residential, retail, industrial and mixed-use schemes. Acted for a university in two-stage procurement of campus redevelopment, on Edinburgh trams infrastructure and Edinburgh Airport Rail Link. Acted for contractor on £120m Aberdeen schools PPP and acting for a number of high profile developers. Instructed by Glasgow School of Art to lead procurement of Garnethill redevelopment, phase I. He is dual qualified.
