The firm: During 2012-2013 a number of significant appointments were made, including Alex Innes and Douglas Gourlay from Semple Fraser to the banking and finance team, and Sarah Bailey to the planning and environment team. Rural specialist Karen McHale joined the land resources team from Lindsays and Associates, and Denise Laverty and Aileen Entwhistle joined the firm’s private client practice. Following a competitive tender process, in May 2013 Anderson Strathern were reappointed as The Crown Estate’s sole legal advisors in Scotland, with Robert Carr, the firm’s chairman, continuing to act as the solicitor for their Scotland portfolio.
