Cedric Bellwald is ‘efficient and knowledgeable’ in his representation of local and international clients, including across white collar crime and criminal law litigation. Other key members of the team include Alain Grosjean, who is adept at using conventional and ADR techniques to settle corporate and shareholder’s disputes, in particular, and Alex Schmitt, who is regularly appointed as Luxembourg expert on issues of banking and finance law arising in the course of international court or arbitration proceedings.

Bonn & Schmitt is noted for its expertise in IP/IT regulatory compliance, headed by Alain Grosjean, whose role as president of the IP, Media and Telecommunication Commission has led to work on behalf of the Luxembourg Bar, as well as commentary on draft national legislations in the sector. The firm also has considerable fintech knowledge and recently became an associate partner of the LHoFT Foundation, Luxembourg’s dedicated fintech platform and a public-private sector initiative that drives technology innovation for Luxembourg’s financial services industry. Bonn & Schmitt is well-versed in advising on local and cross-border M&A matters for corporates and private equity sponsors. In addition, the team regularly handles day-to-day corporate compliance matters, as well as advice on JV and share purchase agreements. In addition to advising on some Luxembourg law structuring advice associated with cross-border M&A, team head Cedric Bellwald also regularly handles domestic transactions, including those with underlying real estate assets.
