Bakken is a member of Arntzen de Besche's European and Competition law practice group. With his international experience from the EFTA Court and the EFTA Surveillance Authority, Bakken has gained a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the EC/EEA legal order, in particular the EC/EEA state aid regulatory framework. Bakken advises numerous Norwegian and international clients in the administrative process towards national authorities and the surveillance authorities in Brussels, the European Commission and the EFTA Surveillance Authority in all fields of EC/EEA law. Lately, Bakken has assisted several multi-national undertakings related on harmonised areas such as the regulatory framework on cosmetics and medicinal products (boarder line products) in Norway. Bakken also provides legal advice related to media ownership.

Clients also praise¬†senior lawyer Vilde Hannevik Lien. Recent mandates include advising Wider√łe's Flyveselskap on issues relating to abuse of dominance, assisting Nordstjernan with a merger filing, and acting for Nortura in a dispute relating to the legality of a restrictive clause in an agreement between Nortura and Finnmark Rein.¬†Svein Terje Tveit¬†made partner in 2019.
