Partner. Rune Tjomsås Andersen has special qualifications within tax law and has broad experience within this field from both the private business sector and the public sector. Andersen has background from the Tax law department of the Ministry of Finance. Furthermore, Andersen has experience and special qualifications within company law and regularly assists in connection with mergers and demergers as well as equity transactions. Andersen works with national as well as international clients within a variety of industries assisting in matters regarding taxation and company law, however with special expertise within petroleum taxation, international tax law, general company taxation, special duties and property tax. Andersen also has experience from drafting laws and regulations and from legislative committees. For a number of years, Andersen has assisted a broad range of companies, Norwegian as well as foreign, in the petroleum industry, especially in connection with transactions, mergers and acquisitions, transfer pricing, contract negotiations, dispute resolutions, continuous tax consultancy, research work relating to tax issues and preparation of income tax return. Andersen has also regularly assisted in matters related to licences and framework conditions in the offshore industry, including public affairs.

Arntzen de Besche is recognised for its expertise in the tax aspects of acquisitions and corporate restructurings particularly in the oil and gas, shipping, real estate, banking and insurance sectors. The practice recently assisted Gassco with real property tax issues relating to the Kårstå processing plant, advised Edge Petroleum on the tax elements of its establishment, and handled the tax aspects of DCC Energy's acquisition of Esso Norge's retail petrol station network. Anders Heieren leads the department, Eyvind Sandvik focuses on international tax and Rune Tjomsås Andersen is a key name for petroleum tax work.
