Latest legal developments in Portugal.
The recent financial and economic crisis has lead companies to economic constraints with severe implications in their economic and financial situation. Said situation leads to the need of adopting measures with the purpose of obtaining a higher economic efficiency by adapting the company to the variation of production or demand of products and by seeking for cost reductions.
1. The Relation of Cooperation between the Portuguese Republic and the Angolan Republic.
Due to its linguistic and cultural proximity, Portugal has been an important partner of the Angolan Republic in what concerns cooperation on several domains, namely in the economic and corporate area, as well as in banking, insurance and equity, new technologies of information and communication, legal and judicial cooperation, amongst others.
Following the financial crisis that has been felt in the markets all over the world, the Portuguese Securities Commission (CMVM) has recently approved a Generic Statement of Opinion on the Practice of Short Selling in the market, in order to restrict the conditions in which Short Selling is made.
