Hanoi-based D&N International has a prominent practice in trade mark litigation, where it frequently represents international clients; it acted for Hachette Filipacchi Presse, parent company of the ELLE brand, in a case concerning a similar trade mark registration and assisted Sky with pursuing a non-use cancellation of a trade mark. Managing director Dang TH Thuy heads the sizeable team, which also handles copyright infringements and includes Dang Thi Hong Nga.
Pham & Associates is adept at undertaking the full range of trade mark, design, patent and copyright work. Recent mandates include successfully representing Russian company FKP Sojuzplodoimport in ten trade mark disputes concerning the word Stolichnaya in Vietnam and assisting Talia Recherche Developpement in registering its trade mark by filing for a non-use cancellation of Carbophos. Nguyen Nguyet Dzung and Do Quang Hung are key names in the large team at Vision & Associates, which also includes well-respected managing partner Pham Nghiem Xuan Bac. The firm advised Ponaflex on a requested cancellation of trade mark to allow ‘Pona & device’ to be licensed in the client’s name in Vietnam and has experience in handling litigation over counterfeit products. Le Quang Vinh lead the team of eight at Hanoi-based Bross & Partners, which advised Haribo on registering ten non-traditional trade marks and is representing Van Mieu Food Processing in a copyright dispute. IPMAX Law Firm’s eight-strong team provides ‘an excellent level of expertise coupled with a proactive service’ and managing partner Son Doan has ‘strong business acumen’. The firm recently acted in trade mark disputes, copyright infringement cases and raid actions for local and international clients. It is also experienced in handling regulatory matters.
LNT & Partners advised new client Coca-Cola Vietnam on a complex licensing clarification with its parent company in order to avoid a penalty from the Vietnamese authorities. The team also assisted Samsung Vietnam in successfully persuading Ebook to drop a claim for an alleged confidentiality breach. Net Le and Anh Tuan Nguyen are two key names in the practice.
