Fredrik Palm advised Stanley Black & Decker in its SEK6.5bn recommended offer for Niscayah Group, and Palm and ‘outstanding negotiator’ Dick Lundqvist acted for Vin & Sprit on the SEK835m sale of Nordic wine and spirits brands to Altia Oyj.

Fredrik Lindqvist’s ‘top-notch, commercial, responsive’ team at Linklaters LLP advised Thermo Fisher Scientific on its €2.47bn acquisition of Phadia as well as Assa Abloy in several transactions including the SEK11.3bn public bid for Cardo and the SEK5.9bn sale of Cardo Flow Solutions. Darragh Byrne is ‘a rising star’. Roger Johnson rejoined from Hannes Snellman Advokatbyrå AB.

Mannheimer Swartling’s busy team is led by the ‘sharp and experienced’ Biörn Riese, who in his role as liquidator organised the sale of HQ Bank to Carnegie Investment Bank. Clas Nyberg advised AstraZeneca on the $1.8bn sale of Astra Tech to DENTSPLY International. Also recommended are the ‘extremely commercial’ Adam Green, who provides ‘fast, pragmatic advice’, and Eva Hägg, who leads the public M&A group. Isabella Ramsay, Nina Svensson, Emil Boström and Lucas Jonsson were promoted to partner.

Roschier’s ‘business-oriented, practical’ practice head Jens Bengtsson and Björn Winström acted for DENTSPLY International during its $1.8bn acquisition of Astra Tech. Axel Calissendorff, Ola Åhman and Mattias Friberg advised Securitas on its €763m offer for Niscayah Group. The firm recruited Malin Leffler, Pontus Enquist and Ola Sandersson from Advokatfirman Vinge.

Christina Kokko heads Advokatfirman Vinge’s ‘competent, experienced’ team, which advised EQT V on its SEK12bn acquisition of the Dometic Group. Johan Winnerblad, who represented Saab on the sale of C3 Technologies, and managing partner Michael Wigge are also recommended. The team remains sizeable but experienced various departures: three partners joined Roschier; two joined Hannes Snellman Advokatbyrå AB; Jan Byström joined Ashurst; and Johan Cederlund left the legal profession.

Petter Wirell leads the team at Advokatfirman Cederquist, where Martin Ulfson represented Research In Motion (RIM) in its acquisition of The Astonishing Tribe (TAT). Lateral hire Lars Bärnheim advised Accent Equity on several acquisitions after joining from White & Case Advokat AB. Wilhelm Lüning and Carl-Johan Deuschl provide ‘excellent service and value for money’.

Hammarskiöld & Co AB’s practice, led by Peder Hammarskiöld and Jacob Melander, ‘consistently delivers high-quality work’. It advised GM following the sale of Saab Automobile to Spyker Cars. Hammarskiöld and Jakob Falkman advised Munksjö on its €95m acquisition of ArjoWiggins’ paper businesses.

Richard Åkerman and Sören Lindström lead the team at Hannes Snellman Advokatbyrå AB, which recruited Christoffer Saidac and Björn Kristiansson from Advokatfirman Vinge. Clients appreciate the group’s ‘legal sophistication, excellent business judgment and strong responsiveness’. Åkerman acted on Vattenfall’s divestiture of Vattenfall Power Consultant, and Lindström and Fredrik von Baumgarten advised EQT on its €250m public offer for Academedia. Roger Johnson rejoined Linklaters LLP.

Anna Sundberg’s ‘responsive, knowledgeable, and efficient’ team at White & Case Advokat AB advised Nycomed Sweden Holding 2 on its €9.6bn divestment to Takeda; EQT Funds on its SEK21bn sale of Securitas Direct; and The Coca-Cola Company on its $822m divestment of Coca-Cola Drycker. Claes Zettermarck, Jan Lombach and Ulf Johansson are the key names.

Ashurst’s practice, led by Jon Ericson, advised Altor Fund III on its acquisition of Orchid Orthopedic Solutions, and Carnegie on the SEK1.5bn sale of BAE System’s shareholding in Saab. Martin Börresen advised Aditya Birla Group on the $340m acquisition of Domsjö Fabriker. Jan Byström joined from Advokatfirman Vinge.

Baker & McKenzie Advokatbyra’s Sten Bauer represented CapMan in its acquisition of Aspen i Jönköping Holding, and Anders Fast advised Ratos on its takeover of KVD Kvarndammen. Fast and Carl Svernlöv collaborated with colleagues in Chicago and Washington DC to handle the acquisition of Carmel Pharma.

Advokatfirman Delphi’s 25-partner group is led by Per Berglöf in Stockholm, and Olof Myhrman and Vilhelm Nyström in Gothenburg. David Aversten, Erica Johansson and Marcus Nivinger – a recent lateral hire from Latham & Watkins LLP – advised Gilde Buy Out Partners on its acquisition of Gerber Scientific’s Spandex unit. Anders Lindström advised Stiftelsen Djursjukhus i Stor-Stockholm on its divestment of Stockholms Regiondjursjukhus.

Dag Fredlund advised SKF Sverige on selling its cage production division to Nakanishi Metal Works. Jonas Frii advised TAT on its sale to RIM. Anders Söderlind heads the practice.

Rickard Poppelman heads Bird & Bird’s practice locally, which is supported by the firm’s pan-Nordic presence. Andreas Börjesson advised BrainHeart Capital on the sale of Spring Mobil to Tele2. Hans Svensson and Caroline Carlshamre assisted Northland Resources with selling its Swedish non-ferrous projects to Orex Minerals, and advised Pöyry on acquiring Vattenfall Power Consulting.

Stefan Kamlin’s team at DLA Nordic is recommended for ‘good industry knowledge and valuable advice’, particularly on mid-market transactions. Björn Sjöberg assisted Vision Capital Partners with the acquisition of Nordax Group, and Anders Malmström and Mathias Berggren advised Mobyson on its acquisition of Stjärna Fyrkant.

Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton’s practice head Sören Druve is ‘an excellent business lawyer’ who advised Tengbomgruppen Intressenter on its joint venture with Sobro. Erik Nerpin, who advised Lundin Mining on its proposed merger with Inmet Mining Corporation, is also recommended, as are Olle Jansson and Robert Lakatos.

MAQS Law Firm’s practice head Jens André advised AcadeMedia on its $106m acquisition of Pysslingen and Bure Equity with its SEK300m divestment of shares in Energo to ÅF. Jürgen Conzen joined from Gärde Wesslau Advokatbyrå.

Advokatfirman Törngren Magnell KB is a ‘top-class’ M&A boutique. Clients value practice head Sten Hedbäck’s ‘extensive in-house experience’. Hedbäck recently assisted Ericsson with its acquisition of Telenor Connexion’s M2M platform. Jens Haneklint, who recently advised Nyx Security, is also recommended along with Peter Törngren and Niclas Högström. The firm recruited Martin Rosell from Advokatfirman Cederquist.

At Wistrand, Gothenburg-based Per Dalemo advised Nordic Choice Hotels Sweden on the sale of its Danish operations to First Hotels. Lars Hasp advised Nyckelstenen Investment 1 on Fagerberg & Dellby’s acquisition of Big Bag Sweden. Robert Kullgren’s clients include Svinöhed Industri and Jörgen Eklund acts for Medtronic.

Hamilton Advokatbyrå’s Thomas Nygren and Mattias Detterfelt represented Koneo during its divestment to Konica Minolta. Per Månsson recently advised Heron International. Martin Prager joined from Setterwalls.
