Portuguese Employment Law
Employment Law in Portugal is regulated by new Labour Code, which came into effect on 17 February 2009. The code has been amended and enforced by four bills that have been approved on 7 May 2009, by the Council of Ministers in Portugal.
The approved bills, which were to be submitted to the parliament, address the following issues: regulation of the Labour Code, health and safety at work, administrative infraction proceedings and revision of the Code of Labour Procedure.
