The ‚Äėprofessional, dynamic and very friendly‚Äô practice group at¬†Al Busaidy, Mansoor Jamal & Co ‚Äėvalues its clients and knows how to maintain a good long-term business relationship‚Äô. Led by Mansoor Jamal Malik, the firm has expertise in corporate restructuring, M&A and shareholder negotiations, and joint venture and licensing agreements. Malik recently advised private equity investor Al Anwar Holding on its sale of stake in OmniVest. Other key figures include¬†Ardeshir D. Patel,¬†Ahmed Hashim¬†and senior associate Mir Nasar Ahmad. Headed by Ahmed Al Barwani, the corporate team is especially active in the food and beverage, telecoms, automotive, healthcare, tourism and oil industries. Al Barwani assisted the food company Kerry Group with its acquisition of AATCO Food Industries, and also advised Salaam Air on the corporate and financing aspects relating to airline’s establishment and operation in Oman.

The corporate department at¬†Dentons¬†is 'exceptional'. Headed by¬†Nick Simpson, the team has¬†‚Äėthe ability to come-to-terms with and advise on corporate reforms and complex corporate requirements‚Äô and ‚Äėbrings global legal expertise to match local Omani requirements‚Äô. Simpson has experience in a wide variety of industry sectors, and is especially active in the financial services sector, where he advised¬†Dhofar Insurance on capital restructuring options to rectify its solvency margin deficit. The ‚Äėvery transparent and reasonable‚Äô Andrew Figgins is also recommended.

Trowers & Hamlins LLP advises on M&A, corporate structuring and shareholder arrangements, international investments, regulatory compliance, and licensing and other commercial agreements. Jamie Gibson heads the corporate department.

Addleshaw Goddard has expertise in public and private M&A, real estate transactions, joint ventures and corporate restructuring. Oliver Stevens, who heads the Oman corporate practice, advised Oman Investment Fund on the disposal of 15% share capital of Oman International and OminVest to Oman National Investment Corporation. The team also has experience of the establishment of new business operations, and recently advised Dover Corporation on the Oman-facing issues arising from the spin-off of its upstream oil and gas production technologies into a standalone public company. Dubai-based Lowri Llwyd handles M&A across the MENA region and was promoted to partner in May 2018.

Al Alawi & Co. Advocates & Legal Consultants has ‚Äėjust the¬†right mix of professionalism and pragmatism‚Äô and has ‚Äėa good understanding of domestic legal requirements‚Äô. Having maintained a number of 'long-term¬†working¬†relationships'¬†the team is¬†regularly involved in notable M&A, restructuring and joint venture mandates. Practice head Jeffrey Jerome Greene, who is ‚Äėquick to grasp the issues as they arise‚Äô, has been advising Oman Arab Bank on advancing its third-party cashless mobile banking platform. Additionally, the team assisted Al Rimal Mining with its corporate restructuring.¬†Arsalan Buriro left the¬† firm in August 2018 and joined BSA Ahmad Bin Hezeem & Associates LLP in Dubai.

Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP handles a range of corporate, commercial and employment matters for energy companies, banks, food and beverage groups and security companies. The team is headed by Bruce Palmer, who is instructed by clients such as Oman Oil Marketing, En-Fab and Oman Cables Industries. In one highlight, the team advised National Finance on its merger with Oman Orix Leasing, a public company merger that produced the largest finance company in Oman. In 2018, Taimur Malik joined Clyde & Co LLP's Dubai office, and Mary Allan joined CMS in Dubai.

Bin Shabib, Al Rashdi & Al Barwani Advocates and Legal Consultants is instructed by clients in the healthcare, financial services and oil and gas sectors, where it advises on joint venture agreements, M&A, corporate restructuring and market entry regulations. Associate Catherine Jaskiewicz is advising Huawei Tech Investments (Oman) on a host of local law issues including employment, commercial contracts, technology law and other various compliance matters. Other key figures include Mundhir Al Barwani and Abdulaziz Alrashdi.

Clyde & Co LLP provides assistance with M&A transactions, joint venture agreements, corporate structuring and licensing arrangements. The practice advised National Energy Services Reunited on the $1.1bn acquisition of the oilfield services companies Gulf Energy and NPS, which involved the undertaking of a due diligence exercise. Stephen McKenna heads the practice together with Marla Valdez, who joined in March 2017 from Dentons.

Fatma Al Mamari Advocacy and Legal Consultancy Firm has wide-ranging experience of M&A, corporate structuring and joint venture and licensing agreements. The team was strengthened in 2017 by the arrival of Marla Valdez, who joined from Dentons, and recently advised National Energy Services Reunited on its $1.1bn acquisition of the oil field services companies Gulf Energy and NPS. Stephen McKenna is also recommended.

Said Al-Shahry & Partners (SASLO) advises domestic and international clients on a full range of corporate transactions and restructuring, finance matters and commercial contracts. Thamer Al Shahry advised Cigna International Corporation on its acquisition of Lebanon-based Zurich Middle East Insurance Company, and subsequently assisted the client with Omani regulatory issues associated with preparation of certain medical insurance products. Special counsel Graham Mouat joined the firm from Al Busaidy, Mansoor Jamal & Co in April 2018.
