The ‚Äėwell-tuned and experienced‚Äô team at¬†Allen & Overy LLP¬†has 'a¬†wealth of experience and expertise and is able to consider various perspectives'. It advises on an array of deals, including public listings, rights issues, accelerated bookbuildings, and other equity capital market transactions. Practice co-head Tim Stevens, who is ‚Äėthe best ECM lawyer in the Netherlands‚Äô according to one client, advised Nepi Rockcastle on its listing on Euronext Amsterdam with a market capitalisation of ‚ā¨6.1bn. Annelies van der Pauw¬†co-leads and is also head of the corporate practice.

At De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, the team 'really understands the market, the legal requirements and business practices' and is 'creative in finding solutions'. Practice head¬†Jan Willem Hoevers¬†and¬†Gaby Smeenk¬†are 'top of the class'. Hoevers¬†advised Fugro on its placement of ‚ā¨100m-worth of subordinated convertible bonds and Smeenk¬†led the Nasdaq follow-on equity offering of Affimed, valued at $24.5m.

NautaDutilh¬†is a popular choice for foreign listings of Dutch companies. Practice head¬†Petra Zijp¬†and Antonia Netiv¬†advised on a Luxembourg-listed investment firm‚Äôs listing on Euronext Amsterdam and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, valued at ‚ā¨4.2bn. Netiv and Paul Van Der Bijl¬†also acted for a German biotech company listing on the Nasdaq, valued at $106m.

Stibbe‚Äôs practice is led by managing partner Derk Lemstra. Pieter Sch√ľtte¬†advised the joint bookrunners Citigroup, Evercore ISI and RBC Capital Markets and the co-managers on the $104m equity offering of ProQR Therapeutics, and acted for the joint global coordinators Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan and the other joint bookrunners (ABN Amro, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Citigroup) on the IPO of Adyen on Euronext Amsterdam.

Houthoff's team stands out for its 'combination of great in-depth knowledge and the ability to connect to clients'. It is a key name for cross-border ECM work and, in a recent example of its strength in this area, practice co-heads Jetty Tukker and Alexander Kaarls ('an exceptional professional with proven skills in any important legal field') acted for Vitol Group and affiliates and the underwriters on Dutch law aspects of the IPO of Vivo Energy on the London Stock Exchange and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Willem Liedenbaum was promoted to senior associate in 2018.

Linklaters‚Äô team is acting for Unilever on a ‚ā¨5bn on-market share buy-back programme but is best known for its strong underwriter client base. Other highlights include department head Alexander Harmse¬†acting for RHI, an Austrian-based and Vienna-listed industrial group, on its takeover of Magnesita, a listed Brazilian competitor, and the listing of the combined group in London. Managing associates Joost Dantuma¬†and¬†Menno Baks¬†are also¬†singled out.

Loyens & Loeff‚Äôs practice head Martijn Schoonewille¬†advised Index Ventures and General Atlantic on the IPO at Euronext Amsterdam of Adyen, a payment platform, valued at ‚ā¨7.1bn. Jelmer Kalisvaart¬†is another key name; he handled real estate company Griffin Premium's IPO on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, valued at ‚ā¨206m.

Clifford Chance's work in the ECM space¬†includes advising on IPOs, private placements and institutional offerings. In a recent highlight, practice head¬†Hans Beerlage¬†and¬†counsel¬†Han Teerink¬†advised on¬†global payment platform Adyen‚Äôs IPO and listing of its shares on Euronext Amsterdam, valued at ‚ā¨7.1bn.

Reinout Slot heads the equity capital markets practice at CMS. His expertise includes advising on issuance of shares, bonds and other securities, public offers, acquisitions and sales of quoted and private companies in the Netherlands and abroad. In recent work, he acted for Cott Corporation on the secondary market equity sale of its bottling activities for non-alcoholic beverages to Refresco Holding for a purchase price of $1.25bn. Counsel Clair Wermers is also noted.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer¬†is headed by recently promoted partner Hanneke Rothbarth, who leads on public listings work in particular. Rothbarth advised Noxxon Pharma on the transfer of its ordinary shares listed on the private placement segment of Euronext Growth Paris Market. In other work,¬†Dirk-Jan Smit¬†assisted argenx with its admission to listing and trading of additional ordinary shares on Euronext Brussels related to the client's IPO in the US, valued at ‚ā¨100m.

At Simmons & Simmons,¬†counsel Michiel Wurfbain¬†assisted¬†Growthpoint Properties, a South African-listed property company, with its ‚ā¨150m participation in an equity raising by Globalworth Poland Real Estate.¬†Wurfbain,¬†Marieke Driessen¬†and the¬†US-qualified¬†Peter Voorhees¬†are advising¬†multi-exchange listed life sciences company Kiadis Pharma on a private placement with institutional investors, valued at ‚ā¨18m.
