Baker & McKenzie Maroc has ‘a strong local team and a highly reputable brand’. Kamal Nasrollahunderstands local mindsets and the needs of international clients’. He advised Marsa Maroc on the country’s first privatisation by IPO, and Attijariwafa Bank on numerous financings.

Clifford Chance provides ‘the high quality of work one would expect from a leading international firm’. Mustapha Mourahib is ‘a brilliant finance and M&A lawyer’. He advised BMCE Bank on a €100m financing for Royal Air Maroc, and OCP on a €500m hybrid bond issuance. Associate Ouns Lemseffer is also noted.

Fraikech Associés has significant expertise in sophisticated banking and finance transactions, an area in which it has a strong client base. Oussama Fraikech advised foreign financial institutions on numerous loan agreements, promissory notes, exchange regulation and securities laws.

Hajji & Associés is ‘a go-to firm; there are no doubts about its integrity’. Amin Hajji is ‘one of the best finance lawyers in the market’ and regularly advises the European Bank for Restructuring and Development (EBRD) on development financing.

BFR & Associés fields ‘a solid, co-operative team that provides excellent value for money’. ‘Brilliant mind’ Romain Rabillard and Safia Fassi-Fihri are ‘very diligent, proactive and commercially minded’.

Bakouchi & Habachi - HB Law Firm LLP enters the table on the back of the high-value financing mandates it receives from its growing client base. Salima Bakouchi’s clients include Abengoa and Wafa Assurance. She advised bondholders on the liquidation of Samir.

Moroccan business law and tax expert Marc Veuillot leads the team at CMS. He advised a French consumer finance company that is part of a major French banking group on setting up banking and insurance support services for foreign clients.

Garrigues Maroc Sarl continues to grow its roster of financial services clients and remains a key adviser to a major Middle East-based Islamic bank. José Ignacio García Muniozguren and associate Jaafar Laidi are recommended.
