Cobalt provides ‘effective and good value for money’ advice to its corporate and private equity clients. Head of corporate transactions Elijus Burgis and Irmantas Norkus are representing private equity fund Livonia Partners on its joint acquisition of a minority stake in Cgates, and practice head Juozas Rimas is advising Johnson & Johnson on its divestiture of its Cordis businesses in the Baltic states to Cardinal Health. The highly experienced Maksimas Saveljevas counts Falck Group and UniCredit Leasing among his clients. The team has been further strengthened by the addition of several new senior associates.

Ellex advised Rimi Lietuva on its acquisition of Palink from a consortium of shareholders. Žilvinas Zinkevičius assisted Dutch investment company AE Fund Management on the sale of shares in Pamario jegainiu energija to an investment vehicle owned by Ikea. Head of the private equity and venture capital group Robertas Čiočys is ‘admired for his ability to control risks’ and managing partner Rolandas Valiūnas and Ramūnas Petravičius are well-respected practitioners. Paulius Gruodis joined the team from Glimstedt Bernotas & Partners. Dovilė Burgienė and Povilas Žukauskas are now with newly established firm Law Firm WALLESS Burgienė, Rečiūnas and partners.

Sorainen is ‘highly rated’ for its business nous and the depth of its team. Head of corporate Algirdas Pekšys, who counts Nasdaq and global stainless steel corporate Outokumpu among his clients, has ‘strong leadership and communication skills’. Sergej Butov is the regional head of corporate/M&A and Laimonas Skibarka and recently promoted partner Mantas Petkevičius jointly head the private equity practice. Of counsel Liudas Ramanauskas, who focuses on the food, agriculture and forestry sector, is noted for his practical and swift advice.

At TGS Baltic, Marius Matonis heads the M&A practice while Vidmantas Drizga leads on the corporate side. Dalia Tamašauskaitė-Žilienė was part of the team that acted for Swedbank on its acquisition of Dankse Capital Investicijų Valdymas and fellow associate partner Aurimas Pauliukevičius was part of the team acting for Storebrand on the sale of its stake in its Lithuanian operations to the US IT company Cognizant. Odeta Tručinskaitė-Šiušienė and Deimantė Korsakaitė have both moved to in-house positions.

Glimstedt Bernotas & Partners serves corporate, private equity and venture capital clients on a range of acquisitions, divestments and investments. The highly respected Andrius Ivanauskas heads the private equity practice. Karolina Baronaitė-Birmontė acted for DistIT on the acquisition of an 80% stake in Sominis Technology. Paulius Gruodis is now with Ellex.

At bnt attorneys in CEE, Frank Heemannis recommended for providing pragmatic and business-oriented advice’. He heads the firm’s insolvency and restructuring group and advised the insolvency office holder of the German company KTG Agrar on the sale of its distressed Lithuanian subsidiary. Mindaugas Navickas and Yvonne Goldammer are key corporate partners.

Dominas Derling’s clients include Enigma Software, Marks & Spencer and Johnson & Johnson. Managing partner Gediminas Dominas and senior associate Jurgita Kiškiūnaitė advise Grand Cru airlines on corporate and commercial matters. Eglė Krikščiūnienė and Vaidotas Puklevičius are other key contacts.

At Eversheds Saladžius (a member of Eversheds Sutherland), managing partner Jonas Saladžius and Rimtis Puišys are assisting the Fortum Group companies with a joint venture with Lietuvos Energija. Venturecorp, Game Insight, and Ricoh are new client wins. Tomas Rymeikis is also noted.

One of the most innovative law firms in Lithuania’, Motieka & Audzevicius is led by the highly rated Giedrius Kolesnikovas. Other key team members include senior associate Michail Parchimovič and associate Rokas Jankus. The group advised Run Investment on its pan-Baltic merger with Idea Group, and handled Boslita Investment’s acquisition of Bosca Rus.

At Primus, Attorneys at Law, Giedrė Dailidėnaitė and managing partner Robert Juodka jointly head a substantial group, which includes Ernesta Žiogienė and Tomas Venckus. The team acted for Polaris Invest on the acquisition of a majority stake in AS Starman. Other clients include Bunge Group, Michelin, and Syno International.

At Fort, ‘hugely experienced and creative’ duo Mindaugas Žolynas and Andrius Mamontovas handle work ranging from acquisitions and spin-off structures to incorporations and share sales and buy backs. Highlights included advising Elisa Oyj on its acquisition of the non-Lithuanian shares in Starman.

Mandates in the energy and agriculture sectors feature prominently in Leadell Balčiūnas & Grajauskas’s M&A workload. It is acting for Agrochema on its acquisition of several of the Litagra Group businesses. Marius Grajauskas and Gintaras Balčiūnas are also advising on a number of wind farm deals.

At Magnusson, managing partner Ligita Ramanauskaitė leads the team, which advises clients from the retail, food, energy and healthcare sectors on joint ventures, investments and restructurings, many of which have cross-border elements. Together with associate Laura Šleževičiūtė, Ramanauskaitė acted for CGP Management on acquiring a controlling stake in Kardiolita.

PwC Legal handles acquisitions and sales work with cross-border elements; it advised BPW Kraatz on the multijurisdictional merger of three Baltic companies. Head of corporate Ina Budelinaitė and head of legal Rokas Bukauskas are the main contacts.

Areas of expertise for the team at Triniti include corporate governance, advising on the establishment of business operations in the country and handling transactions. Linas Sabaliauskas is the key name.
