Abou Jaoude & Associates Law Firm provides ‘a very good level of service when compared to its peers’. Carlos Abou Jaoude has ‘good market knowledge’; he advised Holding M. Sehnaoui on its purchase of a majority stake in Piraeus Bank’s Cypriot branch as part of the bank’s restructuring. Abousleiman & Partners handles a range of work concerning banking, capital markets and investment funds; Randa Abousleiman advised banks including JPMorgan and Byblos Bank as managers on the Lebanese government’s sale of $28bn of notes in three tranches. In the lending space, she acted for a Gulf Council Countries (GCC) bank on a $65m refinancing of a real estate project. Senior associate Patrick Obeid is also a name to note.

Toufic Soudayha advised Goldman Sachs on a $900m total return swap trade with Société Générale de Banque au Liban; Soudayha and Mohamed Alem handled the formation of a $400m real estate fund for Legacy Central. Senior associate Dolly Choucair has aviation finance expertise.

Badri and Salim El Meouchi Law Firm has expertise in investment funds, bank restructuring, M&A and regulatory matters. El-Aref International Law Office’s Aref El-Aref advised Banque Saudi Fransi on a SAR897m facility. Other work concerns project finance.

Obeid Law Firm’s banking and finance practice is led by counsel Marie Hayek. The firm acted for a bank on its exit from the market, and advised another on regulatory matters including internal investigations.
