Led by practice head Toms Sulmanis, Cobalt provides advice on a wide scope of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. Sulmanis brings his M&A experience to employment and immigration cases and handles matters in a ‘timely and professional manner’. He is representing the Latvian Football Federation in an ongoing case on the termination of employment relationships, which involves cross-border work with the firm's offices in Lithuania and Estonia. Other clients include Hugo Boss and Johnson & Johnson. Senior associate Kristine Patmalniece comes recommended.

Ellex is noted for its ‘international know-how' and 'very responsive’ practice group, led by Irina Kostina. In a recent highlight, Kostina and tax group head Zinta Jansons  advised L’OrĂ©al Baltic on its employee share plan. Longstanding clients include the Swiss Embassy and Oracle. The 'excellent' Daiga ZivtiƆa is recommended, as is senior associate Andris LazdiƆơ, who is advising various clients in the technology sector on employment contract matters.

Eva Berlaus leads the group at Sorainen, which handles employment disputes and conflict management, and has expertise in the termination of contracts. Eversheds Sutherland Bitāns' practice group addresses the full range of employment matters and has expanded to cover advice on meeting GDPR requirements. The team continues to provide daily assistance on the full scope of employment and immigration matters to a leading multinational electronics company which is also a long-term client.

At Primus Derling, Zane Eglīte-Fogele  advised long-term client Madara Cosmetics on the legal and tax aspects of its employee share options. Laura Skromule joined from Rödl & Partner.

TGS Baltic offers ‘bespoke quality’ services to its clients in all employment matters. Key contact Andra Rubene, who is ‘outstanding’, advised PharmaSwiss on issues relating to the posting of employees. Senior associate Linda Ơtrause is advising the University of Latvia on the development of a new general staff remuneration regulation for 3,000 employees. Other clients include Volvo Truck Latvia.

Julija Jerneva oversees the employment practice at VILGERTS, which handles a range of issues including termination of contracts, due diligence and disputes. LEADELL Fogels, Vitols & Paipa's employment group advises a diverse set of domestic and international clients across a number of industry sectors on matters including the termination of contracts and due diligence.
