Assegaf Hamzah & Partners acts for high-profile clients such as Indosat, Telekomunikasi Indonesia and XL Axiata – three of the largest telecoms providers in Indonesia – handling commercial transactions and regulatory compliance. The team has also won some significant new clients, including Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia. Zacky Husein heads the practice.

Bagus Enrico & Partners (BE Partners) provides a range of TMT services from preparing bid and licensing documents to advising on joint ventures and the establishment of operating entities. Practice head Enrico Iskandar advises clients such as Vodafone and Microsoft on licensing and regulatory compliance issues.

Ginting & Reksodiputro in association with Allen & Overy fields a cross-disciplinary TMT team that is ‘on top of all the many regulatory issues facing foreign investors in Indonesia’. Practice co-head Harun Reksodiputro ‘knows the sector’ and recently advised Naspers in relation to the Indonesian aspects of the cross-border merger of the group’s online classifieds services.

The IT practice at Hadiputranto, Hadinoto & Partners, a member firm of Baker McKenzie is jointly led by Mark Innis and Iqbal Darmawan. In addition to its international client base, the group is instructed by the largest Indonesian state-owned IT and data company, Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Persero), on a joint venture proposal with Singapore Telecommunications.

At Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung in association with Herbert Smith Freehills, TMT practice head Sakurayuki has advised on various investment and acquisition transactions. BlackBerry, Singapore Telecommunications and the BBC are among the firm’s clients.

At Ali Budiardjo, Nugroho, Reksodiputro, Nurdin Adiwibowo and Emir Nurmansyah are instructed in satellite financing deals by Export Development Canada and US Exim.

With support from the firm’s IP team, Hanafiah Ponggawa & Partners is expanding its capabilities in the e-commerce market. The group acts for investors with interests in local start-ups and for the start-ups themselves. Erwin Kurnia Winenda and Linna Simamora are key contacts.
