Bufete Casco is the IP arm of the local Honduran office of what is now ECIJA, which was formed following the recent tie-up between Spanish firm ECIJA and Casco-Fortín, Cruz & Asociados. The team is highly rated for its expertise in patents, trade marks and copyright; representative work includes registering trade marks, brands, commercial names, and other distinct symbols. It also assists with trade mark renewals, defending IP rights, and annuity and non-exploitation payments. García & Bodán is particularly focused on trade marks and other distinctive signs, patents and industrial designs, copyright and food product registrations, and the firm fields experts in the pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, veterinary and agricultural sectors. In IP litigation, the practice assists with trade mark infringements, invalidity issues and cancellations, copyright infringement and anti-piracy, and criminal actions and precautionary measures. The IP team manages Honduran trade mark portfolios for high-profile corporations, with typical work including advice on the use and registration of marks, oppositions, anti-counterfeiting cases, rightful ownership claims, patent searches and investigations, and copyright registrations and enforcement.  Notable clients are Philip Morris International, Grupo Monge, Cinemark, Ropsohn Therapeutics and Unipharm. IP department head Arturo Zacapa is 'able to understand the essence of cases instantly and gives intelligent advice'. Aguilar Castillo Love 'consistently impresses with its ethics and values; its focus is never in doubt and the practice provides superior service in a timely manner'.  The firm's IP expertise includes assisting both domestic and international clients with IP filings and opposition proceedings.
