Arias' dispute resolution practice acts for companies from a number of sectors, such as banking, retail, energy and pharmaceuticals. Jaime Rodr√≠guez¬†and practice head Eduardo √Āngel¬†successfully represented multinational retailer Walmart before the Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice in a civil liability complaint of over $12m related to the harmful effects of a fire which originated in one of the client's warehouses.¬†Associate¬†Fernando Montano¬†is another name to note. The department's impressive client roster also includes Citibank, Banco Davivienda, Dell and FedEx.

Sáenz & Asociados is well known for its experience in arbitration and litigation. Mario Enrique Sáenz and Humberto Sáenz Marinero head the team, which handles civil, commercial, labour, administrative and constitutional litigation. In addition to representing national and international clients from a broad range of areas, particularly the public sector, in disputes, the team advises on the prevention of possible litigation.

The dispute resolution team at BLP experienced a significant boost with the arrival of noted litigator Harold Lantan in 2017; he now heads the practice formerly co-led by Ricardo Cevallos. With cases ranging from consumer protection and distribution matters to white-collar crime and arbitration, the team's client portfolio includes representatives from a wide variety of sectors. The firm's caseload currently includes handling two contract terminations of GBM, IBM's Central American representative, and acting as lead counsel in a distribution-related lawsuit filed against Champion Laboratories. Both matters saw associate Luis Vega assisting the aforementioned partners.

Recent highlights for CENTRAL LAW El Salvador include department head Piero Rusconi and junior associate Martha Solis representing Italian luxury accessories retailer Salvatore Ferragamo in a commercial lawsuit relating to alleged unilateral termination of a distribution relationship before the Supreme Court of Justice. The firm's dispute resolution practice also acted for Banco Internacional de Costa Rica in relation to the collection of commercial debt from four local companies, and reached an out-of-court agreement in favour of PepsiCo.

Part of a regional network with further offices in Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Costa Rica and Guatemala, LatamLex | Guandique Segovia Quintanilla (GSQ) is highly qualified to represent local, regional and international clients in dispute resolution matters. Department head Oscar Hurtado and his deputy Ricardo Alfredo Aguilar Torres handle arbitration, litigation, mediation and negotiations.

The dispute resolution team at Romero Pineda handles IP infringement and anti-counterfeiting cases, labour disputes, consumer protection claims, and civil and administrative litigation in an extensive range of industry sectors. Intellectual property expert Carlos Castillo, who is also the director of the firm's litigation division, and associate Karla Patricia Alas acted for Fifa in several infringement actions during the 2018 World Cup. The firm's illustrious client list also includes Grupo Bimbo, Coca-Cola, McDonald's and Avon Products.

Oscar Torres and senior associate Mauricio Orellana are the key figures of García & Bodán's El Salvador dispute resolution practice. Early 2019 saw managing partner Julio Vargas acting for footwear manufacturer Crocs in an antipiracy case, which included advising on the filing of criminal complaints before the Attorney General's Office in Sonsonate, the seizure and destruction of counterfeit merchandise, and the monitoring of ongoing imports. Mexican food restaurant Laca Laca, Sky International and Carnes Procesadas (Grupo Capsa) are part of the firm's client roster.

The five-strong team at regional firm Lexincorp's El Salvador office specialises in litigation against tax and government agencies. Practice head Enrique Escobar and associate Kevin Vargas are defending Drogueria Americana in a price-fixing claim raised by the Superintendency of Competition. In a further work highlight, the pair is handling a series of cases relating to the execution of warranties and collection of debts for Banco Cuscatlán.

Consortium Legal's litigation and arbitration team represents its clients in a diverse range of lawsuits, for example in relation to the termination of agency contracts and representation and distribution processes. Department head César Ramos and associate Cristina Campos are the key contacts.

LatinAlliance El Salvador assists both national and international clients in litigation and investment arbitration. In a recent work highlight, the team was instructed by Banco G&T Continental El Salvador to handle a number of cases relating to loan recoveries. Herbert Guerrero heads the litigation department and associate Claudia Miguel is also a name to note.

Key figures Manuel Telles and senior associate Nelson López, the latter of whom heads the litigation and arbitration department at Mayora & Mayora, S.C., advise clients on cases ranging from customs law actions to labour litigation and commercial and criminal proceedings. Currently, the team is managing the recovery portfolio for automotive distributor CrediQ and also providing commercial credit recovery services for Banco Promerica.
