Egypt’s legal market remained relatively unchanged after the January 2011 revolution, but projects and capital markets activity decreased dramatically, stalling just after two capital markets experts joined DLA Matouk Bassiouny from Zaki Hashem & Partners, Attorneys at Law. An increase in litigation has prompted foreign practices with local associations to firm up their relationships to reflect this: Nour Law Office managed by Trowers and Hamlins is now fully integrated.

Overall, the legal market is dominated by full-service firms such as Al Kamel Law Office, Shalakany Law Office, Helmy, Hamza & Partners (Baker & McKenzie) and Zaki Hashem & Partners, Attorneys at Law, although newer firms such as Ibrachy Law Firm and Zulficar & Partners Law Firm are emerging as strong challengers.
