Bun & Associates has a history of acting for top-tier multinational companies in M&A, project and finance, property development and insurance mandates. Clients include Total Cambodia, Phillip General Insurance and Quantum Apparel. In one standout matter, the firm was engaged by Phillip General Insurance to advise on market entry and insurance law. Antoine Fontaine, practice leader of the firm's insurance, labour and employment, and tax and customs practices is a name to note, as is the head of the banking and Finance and corporate and M&A team, Youdy Bun.

A full-service firm, DFDL possesses cross-border expertise in a range of sectors and has particular experience acting in infrastructure and banking, as well as in advising governments and their agencies on the drafting, negotiation and execution of agreements. Managing director Guillaume Massin advised SCA/Cambodia Airports on concession agreements and land use rights following the extension and renovation works at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville airports. Managing partner Martin Desautels and the firm's head of banking and finance, Daniel Wein, acted as local counsel advising China Development Bank on the RMB1bn interbank loan to Canadia Bank. Other names to note include head of corporate and commercial  Chris Robinson for his work advising Vietnam Dairy on its acquisition of shares in Angkor Dairy Products and his role as Cambodian counsel for Wah Sun Handbags on its Hong Kong Stock Exchange listing.

R&T Sok & Heng Law Office is best known for its work advising clients on banking, real estate and project finance matters. Managing partner Chhay Heng leads a team of five partners who act for clients that include Citibank, Credit Suisse AG and the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ. In one highlight, the firm, using a Chinese Wall arrangement, assisted both Donaco International (as the borrower) and Mega International Commercial Bank (as the lender) in relation to refinancing a term loan facility worth $57m. Elsewhere, Sophonnora Tiv acted for Crystal International Limited, a Hong Kong-based knitwear and casual wear manufacturer, in its HK$4.4bn global offering on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the largest IPO of a home-grown company in more than two years.

Led by Bretton Sciaroni, Sciaroni & Associates boasts expertise in corporate and commercial work as well as energy and finance matters. The firm represents both local and international clients. Joseph Lovell is head of the firm's banking and finance group.

SokSiphana&associates (a member of ZICO Law) represents international clients in a wide range of matters including banking and finance, property development, dispute resolution and intellectual property. Clients include Casa Meridian and Kerry Worldbridge Logistics. In a recent work highlight, Sok Siphana represented Urbanland Asia Investment in the structuring of residential condominium developments. Matthew Rendall and Daron Wong are other names to note.

Full-service firm Tilleke & Gibbins (Cambodia) Ltd. boasts a significant number of internationally known companies as clients. The firm provides comprehensive advice to clients in a range of sectors from banking and finance to intellectual property to commercial transactions and M&A. John King and Jay Cohen acted for FMC on various Indochina elements of a large global asset swap with DuPont, arising from the latter's merger with Dow Chemicals. Sophea Sin and David Mol are names to note. Jay Cohen joined the firm.

Well known for its intellectual property practice, BNG Legal also has strength in banking and corporate mandates. The firm's client roster includes corporates from across the banking, manufacturing, real estate, and oil and gas sectors, among others. Principal partner Dr Darwin Hem is the key name to note.

Reed Smith LLP's Cambodia practice is centred on Singapore-based Kohe Hasan; her expertise includes inbound work on behalf of Singapore listed clients with investments in the Cambodia and outbound, cross-border work on behalf of Cambodian clients. The practice is both transactional and contentious in nature.

VDB Loi provides legal solutions for foreign investors interested in expanding their position in Cambodia and is widely recognised for transactional FDI work and regional acquisition projects. The team advises on a range of practice areas including, but not limited to, investment transactions, M&A, banking and finance, real estate transactions, and energy and power. Edwin Vanderbruggen led the team that acted as local counsel for Asian Development Bank on the first industrial-scale solar power project in Cambodia to be connected to the national grid. Other clients include Edotco Cambodia, CIMB Bank and Marks and Spencer. Potim Yun and Alessandra Laureiro are also recommended.
