Local lawyers in cooperation with Karanović & Nikolić is advising Czech construction company OHL on a number of projects, including the construction of motorways in BiH and a new state prison. The team also conducted a legal due diligence for Wien Energie for a new hydropower plant in the Zenićko-Dobjoski Canton. The highly regarded Nihad Sijerčić heads the practice.

Law Office Miljković & Partners is noted for its ‘very good understanding of the energy sector and its advice and solutions’. Managing partner Sead Miljković heads the practice, with Amar Bajramović and senior associate Maja Šimunac also key names. The group was engaged by Todini Costruzioni Generali on the project and bidding process for a motorway construction project and advised Strabag on the planning issues pertaining to new hydropower plants and the acquisition of existing projects.

At Wolf Theiss - in cooperation with local lawyers, Naida Čustović and Samra Hadžović handled the corporate, commercial and financial legal considerations of the development of the Banovići thermal power plant, as well as carrying out an in-depth environmental risk assessment. Associate Amar Močević, who has extensive expertise in energy projects with an emphasis on renewables and energy efficiency, was a new hire from JP Elektroprivreda BiH.

CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz D.O.O. in cooperation with local lawyers handled a number of notable mandates in the renewable energy sphere. Practice head Nedžida Salihović-Whalen led advice to PCC DEG Renewables on the construction of the first of three planned small hydropower plants and is assisting Vestas with an ongoing renewable wind power plant project.

Dimitrijevic & Partners’ team is ‘extremely responsive’ and ‘provides well-founded, practical advice, giving management good guidance’. The firm’s commercial and corporate practice is handling the legal aspects of the financing for the construction of a thermal power plant in the Republic of Srprska alongside Linklaters, and is also assisting with a project worth €1.5bn to develop the network of motorways in the Republic of Srpska. ‘Meticulous lawyer’ Stevan Dmitrijević heads the team, with Davorin Marinković also a key figure.

Marić & Co Law Firm’s prestigious client list includes Gazprom, Vestas and Hitachi Group. Recent highlights include advising state public company JP Elektroprivreda BiH on the construction of a €750m thermal power plant in Tuzla and the construction of small hydro-electric power plants for Kolektor Group and Petrol Group. Predrag Radovanović and Slaven Dizdar are the names to note.

Moravcevic Vojnovic and Partners in cooperation with Schoenherr’s energy group advises on international and domestic energy matters. Matija Vojnović is advising ERS and the government of the Republic of Srpska on negotiations with a potential investor relating to the ‘Gacko II’ thermal power plant, and Miloš Laković is assisting Siemens Wind Power with obtaining the required certificates, licenses and permits to carry out business.

At Law firm Sajic, Sanja Đukić is advising JP Hrvatske telekomunikacije on the construction of 30 cell phone masts, and Aleksandar Sajić is assisting Frisoli with the construction and expansion of the regional waste landfill in Bijeljina.
