CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz D.O.O. in cooperation with local lawyers provides ‘a very high level of service’, with ‘good value for money and a fast response time’. Andrea Zubović-Devedžić leads the team, with Nedžida Salihović-Whalen and ‘astute, on the ball’ associate Sanja Voloder also noted. The team advised Heta Asset Resolution on the sale of a non-performing loans portfolio and assisted the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) with a financing of around €30m to a local retail company.

Local lawyers in cooperation with Karanović & Nikolić is particularly well regarded for its project finance expertise; it is currently advising ArcelorMittal on the structure and financing of a project to construct a thermal power plant in Zenica. The team has notable expertise assisting with syndicated loan facilities and financial derivatives transactions. Nihad Sijerčić is the key figure, with attorney-at-law Amina Đugum also noted.

Wolf Theiss - in cooperation with local lawyers’ team is advising on the financial legal issues surrounding the construction of a thermal power plant in Banovići and is assisting the EBRD and Abanka with the financing for the acquisition of Intersport by a Polish enterprise fund. Naida Čustović leads the team, with Nikolaus Paul and Jasmin Omerdić other key members.

Law Office Miljković & Partners’ team has ‘great know-how and experience’, and acts for a number of commercial banks and multilateral financial institutions. Recent highlights include acting for the creditors on the bankruptcy of Prizma and advising PwC on financial derivatives in the Republic of Srpska. Managing partner Sead Miljković is ‘excellent for client management and has a great level of knowledge and experience’, while senior associate Mia Čivić is ‘dedicated, attentive and responsive’.

Moravcevic Vojnovic and Partners in cooperation with Schoenherr recently acted for Sberbank on the restructuring of Agrokor and advised Raiffeisen Bank on aspects of its merger with its Austrian parent company. The team has historically advised on a number of high-profile financial restructurings. Department head Matija Vojnović has ‘excellent legal knowledge and valuable experience’.

Tkalčić-Đulić, Olodar Prebanić, Adela Rizvić & Arela Jusufbašić-Goloman, Lawyers’ Office advises international and local financial institutions on a range of transactional and regulatory matters. Recent work highlights include representing the Export-Import Bank of China on financing a large infrastructure project and acting for Sberbank on its financing of a local construction company. Olodar Prebanić heads the team.

Marić & Co Law Firm’s banking and finance practice is headed by named partner Branko Marić. The team recently advised multinational banks including Addiko Bank, Gazprombank and Raiffeisen Bank on loan arrangements and also advised state company Elektroprivreda BiH Sarajevo on a multimillion-euro loan from Chinese investment bank CEXIM.

Law Office Mirna Milanović-Lalić’s team provides ‘a timely, professional and reliable service’, and practice head Mirna Milanović-Lalić is ‘open minded, very responsible and able to deal with any kind of problem or issue’. The team recently advised Addiko Bank on multiple proceedings pursuant to the terms of a foreign exchange clause contained in loan agreements.

Sanja Đukić leads the team at Law firm Sajic, with senior partner Aleksandar Sajić another key name. The group acts for clients including UniCredit, Sberbank and Banka Srpske on refinancing, the collection of receivables and as creditor on bankruptcy matters.
